The storage tank for fuel cell vehicle is designed to contain hydrogen in high pressure and for vehicle environment. Those tanks are adopted by global car makers as they pass thorough safety test which includes various impact test. The impact tests include burst test, fire test, riffle bullet shot test and so on. And given the nature of hydrogen itself, which is the lightest element in the planet, it’s proven safer than natural gas, gasoline and most conventional fuel as it’s harder to accumulate after leakage. With the genuine characteristics of easier to predict and control, Hydrogen is actually a safer fuel under appropriate use.

Generally we categorize fuel cell application to portable, stationary, and motive power.

• Portable: handheld device including cell phone and Tablet PC.

• Stationary: Back-up power or continuous generators.

• Motive Power: Propulsion power for vehicle, boats and other motor application.

Fuel Cell is a very clean technology. It produces no green house gas and the only by-product is harmless pure water. The experience of using fuel cell is very similar to driving gasoline and CNG cars. The fast fuel/Energy refilling, 5~10 minutes, and even higher energy density give fuel cell high similarity as the conventional vehicle except it’s completely clean and powered by electricity. By using hydrogen as the fuel, the energy density can exceed 1000Wh/kg, which is no doubt a superior technology today.

Battery is an energy storage device which release energy which it stores in beforehand, while fuel cell is a power generator which convert fuel to power. Therefore fuel cell is not limited to the storage capacity. But there exist some similarity between battery and fuel cell. Both technology rely on chemical-electric reaction when releasing power and therefore are no combustion reaction and are static.
